GEMINI Team attends ETRA 2022

8-11 June 2022

The GEMINI team attends The 2022 ACM Symposium on Eye Tracking & Applications (ETRA 2022) Seattle Children’s Building Cure in Seattle, WA, USA. Three papers were presented in the sessions:

Gaze-Hand Alignment: Combining Eye Gaze and Mid-Air Pointing for Interacting with Menus in Augmented Reality

Exploring Gaze for Assisting Freehand Selection-based Text Entry in AR

Real-time head-based deep-learning model for gaze probability regions in collaborative VR (in collaboration with researchers from Imperial College London and University College London). This paper received the “Best Student Short Paper”.

Together, we had a number of roles at ETRA 2022 in support of the eye tracking community, Hans as Full Paper Chair, Ludwig as Virtualization Chair and Joshua as Session Chair (Session 6 - Gaze and AR). Ken and Joshua organised the 2022 COGAIN Symposium, where James presented his work on gaze interaction and BCI that he did in his previous role. Ludwig received a Beyond Scope Award in recognition of his duties beyond expectation as Virtualization Chair.
